Now im an average golfer....well to be honest im shit, but i can 25% of the time reach par.
I want to try my hand on a golf course in Pattaya but Id prefer it not to be busy as WE maybe alot slower than the average golfer(it may take 10 shots to get on the green). Where do you reccpomend and what time is best to go,what costs etc,

My little mate Callum (doghaus) on FLB does the golf thing in Pattaya (he lives there now) he organizes everything from fees to transport and does a good job,he teams folk that aren't up to par (pardon the pun) so as they don't hold the other groups up. I have his mobile if you want it.

Dear Putter from Leeds
Try the Par three course at the Asia Hotel on top of the hill on the way to Jomtien. I really don't know any course that doesn't get even a bit busy, unless you hit off late in the day when you might get lucky. Most courses have 'sports days' midweek when the fees are reduced, remember the target market is Japanese and Koreans, so it aint cheap.

Si, cheaper to buy clubs at home. Theres a few places in the UK that sell cheap online. If you're in the FF scheme with your airline there shouldn't be an excess baggage charge.

Do all the local courses offer "hire" on clubs?

yes, but your price is going up.
I play with Callum, costs around 2000b for transport, green fees (he gets a discount) and cart and caddy hire. He will hire you clubs for 2 or 300. Caddy tip is another 2 or 300. But its likely to be busy cos it will be a 'sports day'
