When was your favourite period for football for me it was 94 to about 00 I know you have a different perspective when your a young in but football was great then the England team of 96 was awesome, the best foreigners came to England and the game was still English.
It was great up to about 2004 for me then it just lost its way all corporate too much money thrown about etc not the same still good but lost a lot of charm.

The England team of 96 should have won the Euro, they were disappointing in that respect, the best foreigners at that time like Figo and Zidane didn't come anyhere near this country and for a Leeds boy surely it was the early 70's when Leeds were champions of the World ?

As far as England go we've only turned up in 2 tournaments since I can remember 90/96 with Italia 90 being the best of the 2 but that's water under the bridge and rarely watch England now only club football now and the 1980's was by far the best period in time for me

Born in 82 mate didn't pay attention to football until Italian 90

The Sven days weren't bad mate , but I'm saying that with hindsight, Portugal 04 out on pens we had a very good team some would say we should have won it again with 2002 and 2006 we bottled it in 2002 against Brazil, and again Portugal penalties and a last min disallowed (perfectly good goal ) from sol Campbell the famous Urs maier denying us. I think since 06 we have been dire ,shocking and at times flattered to deceive.

Can remember watching something on Italia 90 lineker buffing the fact that we were excellent then, he notes we qualified 2nd in our qualifying group behind Sweden. And we struggled to beat every team in the WC . He said they battled well but weren't as gifted as other tournament teams.

As for the premier league WW I meant in respect of teams not scowering places like Honduras and filling their teams with mid rate foreigners.

World Cup 90 was absolutely dismal, we fluked our way to the Semi's and the group matches were terrible and Cameroon battered us but we somehow got through, rose tinted specs and Gazza's tears made every one jump on the band wagon after.

Euro 96 was just as bad, poor draw against the Swiss, Jocks matched us and missed a penalty, only good performance was against the Dutch when it didn't matter and Spain should have beaten us but didn't get a nailed on penalty.

Hoddle ruined WC 98 by not playing Owen straight away thus getting us a hard match against Argentina which Beckham fucked up for us. Euro 2000 and Keegan less said the better.

The Sven years were the biggest waste of space since the gap between Milkpot's ears, he let the likes of Beckham and Rooney play when they were obviously not fit and at the very least with those players we should have got to the 2002 final if not won and the same with 2004.

Since then I don't give a toss, the players don't anymore and we are just second raters playing boring , defensive Hodgson shit football and have no chance now of ever getting near a WC Final anymore, even the U21's and Women are shit now.
