Better still, revert back to amateur status, have fat unfit props and let the players concentrate on ale drinking instead of training.
Then it would be Rugby League. A far superior game to Union in terms of fitness of the players and entertainment for the spectators.

I once saw a stat somewhere about the amount of time the ball was actually in play in both games. I forget the figures but League was ahead by miles.

I played Union at school and League as a semi-pro for Bramley and Dewsbury. League players are fitter than even their top class Union counterparts.

Spot on Woodman. League is far superior to Union.
A lot of Union watchers would need to keep drawn out scrums, rucks and mauls though, as it gives them plenty of time to have a nip of brandy from their flasks while not missing any 'entertainment'.

I can understand why many people love league but its just not for me I'm afraid, we have to agree to differ?! England at the moment need a change of attitude and big kick up the arse. Nice to see the French keeping the ball in hand a bit and actually going over the try line! Would be nice if England started doing the same.

I agree we need to change the team, but who will come in and make a real difference? I think the changes need to be deeper and maybe remove the Leicester influence from the rest of the coaching team. Leicester have always had a crude approach to the game, based more on brutal beasting sessions than skills.
