Default How much spending money for Pattaya?

It`s a very common and natural question to ask but almost impossible to answer because everyone`s
different.
What facilities do you want from your acommodation,
how much and where do you want to drink?
How many girls do you want to have and from where?
Home food or thai food, fancy restaurant or
street side stall?

Just some examples, not written in stone and with
variances.
Prices in thai baht (with the US$ price at 30baht
to 1$ dollar in brackets),much as I hate
working in anything other than the currency
of the country I`m in,might make it easier for some.

1st,getting fom Suvarnabhumi Airport to Pattaya.
Pre-arranged taxis range from maybe 1000bht($33) to 2000bht($66)
Or Bell Travel Bus is 150bht(($5),the government bus 112bht(($3.73).

Drinking in(open air) beer bars,anywhere from 35bht($1.16) a bottle of beer to 95 bht($3.16)
Coke anywhere from 20bht($0.66) to 60 bht($2.00)

Gogo bars, you`ll most likely be paying around
110 bht($3.66) for a beer,but anywhere from 60bht
($2.00) to 145bht($4.83)

Spirits prices,sorry haven`t a clue.

Then when you meet the girl of your dreams the fee
bf( bar fine)payable to "release her from her work duties" :
Beer bar, generally 300bht($10.00,can be 200bht($6.66) but also as much as 600bht($20.00)
That goes to the bar, with in most cases a small commission going to the girl.
She needs paying for her time spent with you.
There`s probably no other subject that causes
so many
flames on boards than the debate as to what to
pay,so it is "Up to You".

Most but not all beer bar girls will be happy enough
with 1000bht($33.33)LT(Long Time) to spend the night with you.
Some argue it should be 1500bht($50.00)

ST(short time(i.e. you come,girl goes) open to debate,still available at 500bht(($16.66) but others advocate 700 bht/1000bht.
I don`t agree with the latter figures but got better to do than argue the toss.

Gogos, the bf is generally 600bht($20) but some are 400bht($13.33) and anything in between up
to 1000bht($33.33) and more at times.
the girl will probably expect 1000bht st,anywhere
from 1500bht-2500 lt.
1500bht should be OK in most cases.

Somewhere to stay?
Depend what`s important to you.
Decent enough guesthouses at from about 400bht($13.33) to maybe 800bht($26.66)
Hotels from about 700bht($23.33) to 1500bht
($50).

There are of course higher(and to a lesser extent
lower figures than all those above)
Just a very rough guide but if you look at the variation in figures,at least you`ll understand why the question
of how much money to bring to Pattaya
is so difficult to answer.

Post too long as it is,I`ll have a go with food prices
another time.

good questions Paul.
I normally stay middle end of hotels, around 12-1500 baht a night i.e. Flipper Lodge. Good location and swimming pool are all I ask, obviously clean rooms and bedding, plus air-con.
Half and half bargirls or go-go girls.....if I meet one Ilike, don't care where I met her.
Drinking.........maybe I had better not go there, I probably spend just as much if not more on drink than on girls.
For me short-time is 500 baht bargirl, 1000 go-go girl.
It was only 4 years ago that it was 300 ST and 500 LT.
I get thru stacks of cash when I am out there.
Probably why I am skint back home!

Great subject roamer...I think about this stuff often...especially with the down turn in the schekel....

Budget...for me...depends on the length of stay......sometimes.

Songkran was a 12 night trip 4 me and I tried to get the most out of it....with a short timez most days...soi 6 700b to 1000b (incredible service)...s/t room and beers not included...add additional 400b.....Welcome Inn...well they want 1000b..."Welcome girls are best in Pattaya"...bullshit.... but I had a good time anyway.

Beach Road s/t 500b with ROLAND'z and yusa'z girlfriend.

L/t'z....most I paid was 1500b...great service again....least I paid was 500b to a lesbian couple I picked up at a beer bar that weren't lesbianz....but most of us have been conned on this one b/4....sent them on their way in the morn with 500b and no complaints....they knew they didn't live up to their end of the deal.

Stayed at the Sandy and had a standard at 1300b...it was a big room with a sofa....

Drinking?....spent most afternoons and evenings drinking...probably need 2-2.5k for this.

In total....spent on average of 6-8k a day not including room.

Bell Travel Bus for 150b, including shuttle to hotel.

Over a 2 week stay....the only thing I change is the hotel for a better daily rate....everything else usually stays about the same.

it's the little things that add up...laundry, meals, ApCialis, glow in the dark hoop thingees, shoe shines, nazi helmets... etc.....

Excellent information roamer and any first-timer can plug themselves into the different categories you've outlined and be able to figure out about how much they need. Putting the $ figure after the amount in baht was really helpful too...saved me doing 'mental math'.

P.S.- nose, on your last trip, did the Sandy Springs live up to what you've come to expect of it? Does it still get a from you?

Hi mack....they've always treated me very well at the Sandy. Never a problem with a bill and they are always watching out for me.

They do not do breaks on long term stay though. Good people and I consider the place my home away from home....I think woody has the same same viewpoint...as he always stays there as well.

ferocious,

When are you in BKK and where are you staying? There are a huge number of new hotels going up around Sukhumvit and you can get a 4/5 star studio apartment for under 2k at the moment.
