Definitely would of rather faced the Germans, generally speaking they treated western POW's fairly well all things considered. The japs on the other hand treated all POW's disgustingly.

Would have prefered the Germans. Was only comparing Band of Brothers with The Pacific the other day and jungle fighting would have freaked me out. Much prefer the idea of seeing the enemy than stumbling through a snake infested jungle, your feet and crotch rotting away, malaria and dysentry tearing your body apart. getting slotted by a jap sniper would come as a release in the end. Give me a Death or Glory charge on the normandy beaches or up the slope of Monte Cassino anyday.

yeah the band of brothers series made it look as tho there was a bit more class in the european theatre (possible contradiction considering it was a war) maybe!
Pacific just gave the impression that those little fuckers only attacked at night keeping you on your toes with minimal sleep the old "death before dishonour" made them more ruthless in their approach
