Default NFL Fantasy Football 2009 (ESPN)

OK, so here is the good news and the bad...

I set up another league that will be offered to just about anyone on any of the Pattaya related message boards who is interested in playing some NFL Fantasy Football. The league is on the ESPN site that we have used for the past several years. Pretty straight forward, you simply register on the site (it's all free) and then use a pool of $50 million to select a squad. You can make changes each week but the prices of the players will rise or fall depending on performance and you have to stay under the salary cap. Where it gets interesting is when say you get a player at a cost of 6 mill and he performs well causing his value to increase to 6.5 mill and then he has a Bye week. If you drop him then you only have the original 6.0 mill to spend on a replacement and you won't be able to get your 6.5 mill player back unless you cut elsewhere or wait to see if he comes down in price.

It's a fun distraction, we usually get about 50+ guys to play and the leader is often extremely strong....

Here is a cut and paste of an email that I would send with the invite:

This message is from Shilo's Prowler who is challenging you to play Gridiron Challenge on ESPN.com.

This game challenges you to build a roster of pro football players consisting of 2 QBs, 2 RBs, 2 WRs, 1 TE, 1 Kicker, and 1 Team Defense, while staying under your team's $50m salary cap. Best of all, it's FREE to play.

Get in the action now:
http://games.espn.go.com/gridiron/en/group?groupID=4021

Group: LOS Expats and Wannbes
Password: Pattaya

Now the bad news.... it seems that the Thai police think that ESPN and fantasy football is somehow related to either porn or gambling. While I was setting up the league I got a couple of messages that different screens were blocked. And yet I was still able to set up the league and choose players for my team. So anyone interested in playing should give it a go but just be aware that we "could" see fantasy football added to the evils of the world that the Thai police will attempt to protect us from...This shouldn't be a problem for anyone who lives outside of LOS where common sense still lives and breathes.

Just like to remind you that football is played with a round ball.

That's poof's rugby you are on about.
