Any tips for a weekend tripper
So I'm away to Pattaya in January with Mick but theres a pretty good chance I'm getting transfered to China with work next year which is going to put me 2 hours by plane from Thailand. I'm hoping to take advantage of this by indulging in a lot of weekend trips. Anyway my question is...if that comes about am I better off short-timing it on Soi 6 each weekend I travel or would I be better getting a couple of 'regulars' onside?

If you only have a weekend then stay at the queem Vic or Jack O Tar bar and enjoy Pattaya's Finest.

check on flights from China to Thailand first as there isnt as many as you might think, depends where in China you are.
Beijing-Bkk is 4 1/2 hours plus 1 hour time difference. China flight times are crap, and expensive ( i have been doing them every 2 months since sept 2009) I have found a deal with Sri Lanken out of Beijing but it doesnt go every day and i still have to get from the local shithole im based in to there. Another option is via Hongkong but it will eat into your away time. its still closer than uk though, i would try and plan a 4 day weekend to give you a little time to relax

Thanks man, good advice. I didnt check prices but the flight time was 2 hours direct to Bangkok which suits me fine. i dont expect to be going every other weekend but every 2 months would work fine.
