Default What's the biggest sports blow-out ever?

On ESPN they just flashed through highlights of what they called the 10 biggest sports blow outs of all time. It was slanted for the U.S. since it was the ESPN version shown here, so there were a couple of NFL football games in there. One of them was the Bears big lopsided win over New England in a past Super Bowl. Number 3 or 4 was the streak the young Mike Tyson had of knocking out 4 straight fighters in under 1 minute in each of the 4 fights.

2nd was (according to ESPN I guess, I don't think it was voted by fans) the 24 year old Tiger Woods' win in the 2000 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach by 15 strokes...the biggest winning margin ever in a major.

What do you think they said was the number 1 biggest blowout in a major sporting event? It wasn't in soccer, NFL football or baseball.

Not B-ball gonzo. It happened about 34 years ago. I won't drag it out...one more guess that's reasonable and the answer will be next.

"You are correct sir!" as Ed McMahon might say. According to ESPN the great racehorse Secretariat's win at Belmont in 1973 by 31 lengths was the biggest sports blowout in a major sporting event.

Here's a snapshot of the great horse just before the finish line...look how far back the others are Irish!

___________________________________________ _____________________________

Secretariat had so big a lead he felt confident enough to even take a dump before the finish line! Is that the utimate "in your face" sports taunt of all time or what?!

For that correct answer you've won a lovely gift from P-R's one (and so far only) sponsor Apparelop (www.apparelop.com). And because you're a member in good standing with the Woosies, P-R will waive the usual shipping and handling costs when mailing this gift!

"Did I just read that right?!" you're thinking, aren't you Irish? Again... P-R will waive the usual shipping and handling costs when mailing this gift!

Isn't life wonderful Irish?! Let's read about your gift prize straight from Apparelop themselves:

MediVen Plus Medi Active Model # 215 Men's Leotard 30-40mmHg Beige Size VI
Mediven Plus Rx offers patients stylish graduated condensation therapy in the broadest run of ready-made open-toe styles uncommitted today.Mediven Plus stockings feature film multiplied of the sort modern knitting features as our Radiance and Elegance lines. Blending MediSilk woollen thread upon a more than unintelligible stuff, Plus offers patients who care to hold back their varicosities, blemishes or scarring a considerate root in a semi-sheer stocking.PlusOpen-toe title, unintelligible stuff to hide out veins and blemishes30-40mmHg CompressionColors: Beige Men's leotard upon fly-front gap

Well Irish...socks aren't the most exciting prize to win but let's bring out the old saying here of "don't look a gift horse in the mouth." What the hell exactly does that old saying mean anyway? Well I guess it's safer than looking in a horse's other end.
