Not wanting to sound like a whinge here but using insults like Yed Mair could get you seriuosly hurt or possibly killed.

I know many lao/issan derogatory insults but best never to use them and try to forget knowing them, one time a girl in phuket was taking the piss out of me calling me an english wanker, I very stupidly responded with something very insulting to Issan ladies 'E-sandan', my gf of the time and all her bar mates had to talk her down for a very long time.

My gf told me later said she told this girl I was just ignorant farang and didn't know what I was saying, but this girl had told her at while still in a rage that she wanted to knife me and was not messing about.

Never repeat this stuff to thai's you do not know extremely well.

Here's a link for some Issan phrases. Seeing as how most the bg's are apparently from this region. You might get a few raised eyebrows though hopefully not slaps coming out with some of these.

Question for butterfly blonde, what does E-sandan actually mean ? Cheers.

Hiw or I hunglee which translates as - take me to a restaurant so I can order lots of food of which I'll only eat 1 quarter.

I never actually got to find out but a few Thai women have told me it's really bad, perhaps worse than some others.

E' for female and Buk' for male are in a way, a way of bellitling someone, almost the opoposite of respectful versions for people older and (perhaps) higher status, like Pee + Ay

So if a ladies names was Mee, you might say Pee Mee which would be respectful, E' Mee would not.
A man called be called Pap, becomes Ay'Pap but not good to say buk instead of Ay.
So a few insults revolve around using Buk & E' before the actual insult.

E' parrrp (or spell pawp)= kind of similar to saying fucking idiot
Buk' parrrp - male version of above

Thai's sometimes use the 2 above in jest, you will sometimes hear these appear in live stage acts involving Katoeys, like at a Morlam concert. It might be ok to let your thai friends know that you are aware of them but not good to speak them in public.

Other than those using Buk & E', some of my thai friends would laugh to hear me say 'mar see mair mung'

Which means 'your mother fucks dogs'

e sandan I must find out what that means it sound really useful if it upsets cunts that badly , I hope it applies to Thai men as well, great possibilities here.

Ok asked the wife and Mia noi about Esandan its not a thai word its lao Issan dialect and means u are not a good woman with bad thoughts for other people , it is not applicable to men as it means a bitchy nagging woman.
