Congratulations England
Well done England – Without a shadow of doubt you guys thoroughly deserved your 35-18 win overnight.
You played a style of rugby that took us by surprise and one we didn’t have an answer for. Ben Young was inspirational as he led the attack from the scrum and instead of playing the dour style of rugby England has become known for, you guys really went on the attack. Our defense in the past has stood us in good stead but last night we were found looking for answers against a constant barrage of attack. It certainly didn’t help us that O’Connor missed his first 3 penalty kicks, whilst Flood didn’t miss a kick with his 25 point haul and Ashton’s two tries simply exposed Australia’s weakness when faced with an opposition that was 100% on its game. As one of the English commentators said when asked for his pick of the man of the match he replied ”England are overwhelmed with heroes today” and I think that really sums up the game. Congratulations England – I tips me lid. PS: What an awesome atmosphere at Twickenham that must have been, with a full house and the sounds of “Swing Low Sweet Chariot” reverberating around the ground – Rugby at it’s best!

Good summary KB. In fairness Australia won the big game of their tour on Tuesday, albeit Leicester did not have their England players available. Youngs is the future for English rugby, I reckon there is still a lot more to come from the youngster. Do you remember his old man playing? For me, Australia still needs to sort it's set scrum out if they are to win the upcoming world cup

Not a good weekend for the Aussies, fucked over by the Kiwis in rugby league, hammered by the Poms in union and then Webber made to look a mug in F1.
Sporting superpower ? flat track bully more like !

John,
You missed the comments from Dave, Phil and others during the rugby! Same will apply no doubt from Thursday morning when the Ashes is on in Metro, live via satellite. They are already in bed!
