C'mon You Pommy Bastards
Got a phone call at home yesterday. Nice lady with a very English accent who said she was from Betfair. She said that I can have a free $20 bet and if I lose my account will be reimbursed by the said amount.
So I put the money on England (at 2.52) to win the 4th ODI at Lords tonight. The reason being the media over here is babbling on about a 7-0 series win (been listening to Glen McGrath maybe) plus Ponting is back and we usually lose when he rejoins a winning team. Throw in Ponting's woeful captaincy record in England so I might be on a winner here. Cant lose really. If England wins I pickup some dosh. If the Aussies win, then I can give Hammer some curry and all the other Pommy bastards on here as well. Of course, the Betfair call could just be a marketing play. Imagine ringing them up if the Poms lose and I don't get my money back. That would cause a few laughs around their office. |

Since I was a little tacker, I've had it drilled into me that anyone from England was a Pommy Bastard. Nothing wrong with that. Just like Italians & Greeks were all wogs. Nobody here gives a fuck.
And when they emigrate to Australia they get elevated to "Whingeing Pommy Bastards" status |

Yep I did not lose my dough. The bet was there but nothing was deducted from my account. Careful with the language Mick. With all the Pommy bastards on this board, she might be their mum, sister or ex-missus |

Maybe Reverend Lovejoy from The Simpsons?? http://simpsons.wikia.com/wiki/Reverend_Timothy_Lovejoy Surely cannot be from fond memories of a past love that two dodgy Yanks have been taking turns keeping her company could it?? |
