youtube videos?
Bear with me, I don`t know if what I want
to do is possible. Any way of getting youtube videos onto my laptop? One thing I missed in LOS was some of my favourite music. Tried to listen/view the youtube clips on this board whilst in Pattaya but couldn`t. Maybe me misssing something obvious but I guess it was down to the wifi connection being too slow????? Hence my question, any way of getting some clips downloaded onto laptop? If not possible with videos, just the audio to the clips would do. |

roamer,
If your ISP in LOS was TOT then you're fucked for watching Youtube .......they don't block the site, only the streaming! There is a fix round it by opting to watch the HQ versions though. To save the files ..... there are loads of sites now but you can try ......... http://www.savetube.com/ http://www.downloader9.com/ |

I`m doing something wrong. That seemed very straight forward. Copied and pasted the total address of a youtube track I wanted to download into the box provided by the savetube site. Maybe half a minute or so "Download Complete". Appears on my desktop. Try to play it,using Windows Media Player and get the following message: Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file. COOD1199 "Cannot play the file" I`m lost, could be something very obvious to somebody else though. |

I've recently downloaded the RealPlayer video player on my laptop, and now whenever I go to a site where you can watch videos, a small box will pop up at the right side top of the screen asking if I want to download the video. If I opt to download it, it goes directly to my RealPlayer library and available for viewing without being on line. And that is with the free version of RealPlayer. If that option is available where you are, might be worth considering.

I`ve done that and got it to work, downloaded a couple of youtube videos. One thing I`ve noticed though is the playback quality isn`t as good as direct from youtube. Shows "quality" as 396 kbps and 405 kbps on the 2 tracks. Can I adjust this upwards when I download? If so how? There is some slight but bearable stuttering on replay. Anyone know how I can get the quality improved? Nearly there. |
