Yeah Read about that already mate. It is all over various photography boards and forums.

FWIW, in January 2001, I came back from a holiday in Thailand. I had a lot of photos developed from my Pentax SLR film camera. While in Peth I bought one of those new fangled gizmo's, a digital camera. A HP 1.3 megapixel. Cost me $850 from Harvey Normans.

I have never used a film camera since. About 6 months ago we had a cleanup at home after the missus had left. About 4 old film cameras ended up at the tip. Not even worth selling on Ebay.

I dare say the cameras, laptops, mobile phones that I have got now will go the same way within 10 years.

That's the beauty of buying a decent lens. You just keep attaching them to the latest camera body. That is why they hold their value for so long. They are one of the few future proof items still around.

Any one want to buy my 47" Panansonic rear projection TV? It's good for looking at the cricket.
