I'm no Chelsea fan but the decision to sack Grant is ludicrous.

Grant picked up the pieces at a club in disarray. In the end, Chelsea were a few inces away from lifting the Champions League trophy had John Terry's spot kick trickled in instead of sliding off the post. Grant took them to 2nd in the EPL where, academically, they had a chance going into their last game to win the league.

His reward for a sterling effort? The arse.

For Mourinho to say he won two trophies the year before is pathetic. The Carling Cup is as respected as Harry Kewell's sick notes. The FA Cup, as sadly judged by the top teams fielding weaker line-ups nowadays, not much better.

Abramovich should just look to rebuild on this year's moderate success, not shuffle the cards, spend a squillon more and take another 2-3 years to rebuild.
