there are several ways of setting up your email. You can set them up as a POP/IMAP You have to make sure your mail account accepts the way you want to set it up. Your incoming mail server and outgoing mail server needs to be set up correctly and also you need to know whether you need to authenticate the connection or whether or not to use a secure connection! Just have a play with the settings it will work eventually! You could always contact hotmail and ask them for the settings??
