Couple of phuket questions

A good friend is going to Phuket shortly
on his 1st Thailand trip.
Taking his wife and 2 young kids(under 10yrs old)
staying at the Royal Phuket Yacht Club.

I`ve never been there and he`s asked for an idea how much he should pay for a car and driver to go sightseeing(day basis) and also where would be nice to go as a family, other than just the beach.
Any recommendations for mid to high end restaurtants would be useful.

Maybe someone here will know.

Thanks

in Kata there is a restaurant made out like prehistoric caves, on the hill as you go up there on the right, coming from Karon area, really good fare in there and the kids would like it
