Todays shopping list..............

I'm going to Chatuchak today with Porno.

We are looking for:

1x Hawk Owl (To keep Bubo company)

2x rabbits. (Seems a waste having the cage and run empty)

1x Fighting Cockerel. ( New idea. I've got big plans :lol2:)

1x Crested Serpant Eagle.

10 Koi Carp. (New pond up and running)

I bet that's slightly different to anyone going to Bluewater shopping today.

monkeyspanker 01-15-2011 01:33 AM

i was going to screwfix to get some storage containers for my van but instead i will pop round the RSPCA and see if anyones handed in a tiger cub, snow leopard or maybe a cobra

monsterman 01-15-2011 05:53 AM

Bouncer and me were in Khao Keow Zoo , we asked them whats spare they said mirky can have a Hippo and 2 chimps they are famales too so he can shag them as well.

Roll up roll up for the grand life expectancy sweepstake!

I reckon:

1x Hawk Owl - 1 month
2x rabbits - 2 weeks
1x Fighting Cockerel - 3 weeks
1x Crested Serpent Eagle - 3 months
10 Koi Carp - first one dead by Tuesday, whole lot gone by Feb.

As for the OP, just some window shopping for me today as I don't get paid til next week. I want to check out an Orange Tiny Terror combo and have a look at some Gibson Les Pauls athough I really want a Custom Shop Class 5 and nowhere in Cardiff has one (only 3 in the country I can find, 1 in Bristol, 1 in Guildford and 1 in Nottingham).

Mirkwood 01-15-2011 12:16 PM

It turned into a bit of a disaster.

Woman had sold the Hawl Owl. I was gutted. We saw 2 more big Barn owls for sale. Porno wanted to by another one but I said no.

Considered getting Odin mark 2. They had 4 young Black winged kites for sale. I might get another one but I fancy something extreme. Large size.

Saw two mean looking American Pit bull puppys for sale cheap. Only 3000 baht. I sort of fancy one but can't get another fighting style dog. These 3 bastards drive me mad. Can't face anymore. It's come to something when a Thai Bangkeaw is the friendliest dog you own.

Porno was looking at rabbits then said ' I'm not feeding your Akita anymore' so that was the end of that idea.

We ended up getting 10 Koi carp for 130 baht and a load of dog food. It's now costing me more to feed the animals than us.

I might go back tomorrow. It's a great day out.

Frankie 01-15-2011 12:40 PM

Mirky you should of bought either pirahnas, or a shark for the pond. That way all angles would be covered as you would then have the capability of killing anything on land, sea or in the air.

'Kin'ell Jake, even Mirkwood wouldn't contemplate keeping that lot in a condo :clueless:

And there'd be more chance of him using condoms than walking the dogs

I can't help noticing you seem to have dropped a shed load of cash on this animal kingdom......any idea of the overall cost? :hmmm:

soi 2 01-21-2011 10:11 AM

The little rabbits they seem to like in Thailand are quite cute. I met one girl who had a couple last year, bit messy for keeping her loom though.

The rabbits just did their own thing and played about. Forgot about them and had a shag on her bed and when we had finished the rabbits were right up at the bed. Cuddled into each other watching us. :smoke:

monsterman 01-21-2011 11:17 AM

I dread to think.
100,000+ baht maybe?

Bangkeaw must stand me in 25,000 alone.
Akita 15,000+
Copy German Sheperd at least 10,000 baht.
Odin at least 20,000 baht.
10 other owls, hawks birds at least 20,000 baht.

Fish, squirrels, rabbits, tanks, food etc etc. 20,000 baht.

I don't regret any of it to be honest. At least my Akita wags it's tail and likes me when I come home. Better than you get off some manky TG.

Well what you shopping for this weekend Khun Mirky?

Your fish stock is already depleted and I cant see the rabbits making it past the middle of next week.

Can you get giraffes at that Chatuchak market?

If they could he would already have one. I'm waiting for the crocodile to give the Akita some of it's own medicine.

monsterman 01-22-2011 11:31 AM

Perhaps Mirkwood should be renamed......The EXTERMINATOR

Mirkwood 01-22-2011 12:51 PM

Im getting a Crested Serpant Eagle next. I reckon all the Koi carp are probably dead by now. Must have had 50 plus fish at least.

One of the members posted above that Akita's were bred for hunting bears.

Might be an idea for Mirky to buy a cub bear and let it and the Akita go at it. Not much point in waiting until the Akita is fully grown as then it would only be fair for it to fight a fully grown bear. But that would cause total mayhem and numerous fatalities both animal and human.

What about it then Khun Mirky? You could run a book on the outcome and charge for admission. I am sure the locals would be interested. Maybe David Attenbrough could give punters tips on the likely outcome and commentate on the fight. You could run a feed on to the board or get the fight live on Sky Sports for the blokes that cant be there. Could be the beginnings of a new career, animal fights promoter. Fuck Don King.

From what you have posted so far the animals you have bought dont seem to thrive in their new environment. So maybe just revert to survival of the fittest and make a few bob on the side.

Just dont go to the RSPCA looking for sponsorship, endorsements, product placement etc.

monsterman 01-23-2011 04:01 PM

My old friend Clive who used to live in High Wycombe had several Crocs ,baboons ,chimps and a 6 metre long Python that weighed 300lbs. Needed 10-12 blokes to load him in the van for film shoots even when he was sated with food and a little dope.

When the crocs were babies they were cute but when they got 6ft long and sat under the sofa during our biker parties it was dodgy .He lived in a semi and the RSPCA hated him but he was a pro animal trainer and rented himself and the animals out to films at Elstree etc ...he also has issues with the Tax man...but the never called round after the snake nearly ate one of the cunts when he tried hassling clive whilst clive was feeding the monster.Unfortunately clive passed away a few years ago from a heart attack caused by too much dink and dugs and the animals were sold off by his wife and sent to various Zoos in the UK.

Bargain this one. They normally sell for over 3000 baht but we buy a lot of birds from this dealer so did a deal.
We have a large big money owl on order with her so she let us have the Brown owl for 1500 baht.
The avary was coming on well but the Thai bloke hasn't turned up for a week. Should be finished soon.

Anything that comes from Chatuchak is on the danger list as soon as you see it. Most of the birds are wild. Take my Brown owl for example. One minute he's sitting in a tree in Malaysia with his mates. Next thing they are all in a net then on their way to Chauchak. I've heard for every bird makes it there 5 die.

Punter sees a nice bird and buys it,gets it home and the thing doesn't eat or drink because it's in shock. Same as when you take a bird indoors that your cat half killed.

We are good with birds now. We take them straight to my mate at the Hawk school where he checks them out. When they come home we put them in an owl box with the right food. With the other owls about they seem to feel at home straight away. It's nice to see. Already the Barn owl wants to sit beside the new one. We have old trees etc they sit on.

Dogs.

The dog thing is horrific. If you live in a posh falang area with no soi dogs then your puppy may live. Well, that's if it didn't have Parvo or Distemper when you bought it from Chatuchak. I reckon 90% of the puppies there have one of those diseases when you get them. They are so contagious. Say a puppy has Parvo. Every other dog in the box will get it 100%. Next somebody comes along and strokes the puppy and lets it lick their hand. Then he goes next door and lets the next puppy do the same. You get the picture.

All the stray soi dogs have wonderful immune systems. They must have or they would die. You bring your puppy home and the strays pee and come up to your gate. The first time your little dog runs outside (and it's nearly impossible keeping a puppy inside) it will get some virus. 100% sure.

If a non Thai dog makes it past 6 months I'd say it's just super good luck. If a stray walks up your road you can get Parvo on your shoes or car tires.

The two Thai dogs we have can shrug these diseases off. The Bangkeaw is about the best dog you can get in LOS. Being part Jackal makes them strong against illness.

I worry for Ninja my Akita to be honest. He keeps getting sick. Pedigree falang dogs just can't hack it here. They get bred in unatural conditions. As soon as they go out or sniff another dog they get sick. Ninja was sniffing some dog shit in the road last week. Result? Vets.

I had to laugh yesterday. Pitbulls are the new thing at Chatuchak.
Trust me. The Thai version is a fucking nightmare. Look like they have been bred to star in the Omen.
They look really junk yard dog style and have the tiger stripes. Evil looking bastards.

I can't face getting one of them before you ask. :lol2:

KeeNeow 02-07-2011 02:51 AM

I 'll wait until next weeks post then where you buy a pit bull. Micheal Vick would be on the RSPCA honours list compared with you.

I can't really argue given my pet mortallity rate. It's a good thing I wasn't named Noah in a past life.
My ark would have been like a ghost ship. :lol2:
