it's close to lots of places Jonny, a couple of hours to the coast, 3 hours to S.F., 4 hours to L.A., an hour and 1/2 to Yosemite, a couple of hours to snow ski, etc.

In real life are the roads really that straight.

Sampeng the roads shown on that map are a couple of major highways and they are pretty straight like it shows.

I think the uk is close enough for me. Don't want anyone calling round for a cup of tea.
