Ricky Hatton vs Floyd Mayweather

Seems it could be on so what's your thoughts ?

I read that Mayweather has a 7 inch reach advantage which allied to his superior boxing skills is quite a hurdle to overcome.

Thebomb 07-29-2007 12:13 PM

tough call this one......mayweather is by far the superior boxer but wont have had the pressure(bullying) that hatton will give him,its all about weather floyd can take it and figure hatton out......hattons an open type fighter and floyd could be clever and take him apart....but didnt they say the same about kostya zyu???

Elvis 07-29-2007 01:55 PM

hatton is tough seen last mayweather fight he was good but i think hatton has measure of him tough as nails hatton

ROLAND 07-29-2007 03:58 PM

Could be a classic and I hope it goes ahead, as for the winner it will be difficult as Hatton is not a natural welterweight so FM has to be the favourite

Bilbobaggins 07-29-2007 04:14 PM

heart says Hatton but head says Mayweather

Baggins...

mack 07-29-2007 04:52 PM

Great matchup with the two different styles. Saw Mayweather clips on youtube of his battle with Chavez and he weathered the storm, but Hatton looks to throw harder punches than Chavez?? Mayweather is going to be tough to catch up to and figure out...I'm with Bilbo and want Hatton to win but if betting money would put it on the mouth.

Bilbobaggins 07-29-2007 05:08 PM

one thing is for sure, Hatton won't make anything easy for Mayweather, I would love to see Ricky do the business

Baggins...:boxing:

BigBadSi 07-29-2007 06:08 PM

Id love to see hatton shut that mouthy cunts trap

mack 07-29-2007 06:45 PM

Who gave Mayweather the nickname of Pretty Boy, himself? Must be the play on Pretty Boy Floyd the old mobster, because it can't be due to his looks.

ferocious 07-29-2007 07:42 PM

when i was at the vargas-de la hoya fight in 2002 mayweather walked through the mandalay bay casino with a load of wannabe gangsters dripping with gold thinking they owned the place

ferocious 12-06-2007 05:50 AM

less than 36 hours till they enter the ring now and i still can't make a prediction for this one....! heart says hatton head say PBF , for hatton to win i think he'll have to jump on PBF from the off and boss the fight not letting PBF dictate the pace

Thebomb 12-06-2007 06:29 AM

same same....heart says hatton but head says floyd.......i think floyd will hab his running shoes on for a points win

torrenova 12-06-2007 06:59 AM

I'm not sure what Hatton has got to do the job. Heart yes but I don't think that's going to be enough. I see it either going all the way and Hatton coming up short or Hatton throwing caution to the wind and either getting worn down or stopped when behind on points in the latter rounds.

I believe it is on True Channel 67 which means you either have the platinum package or it's PPV.

Lots of bars in BKK are showing the fight from 9 a.m. and serving brekkie so I would assume that somewhere like The Sportsman will be showing it.

ROLAND 12-06-2007 09:37 AM

I wonder if we will get a stitch up decision, rematch = mega bucks ?

ferocious 12-06-2007 09:38 AM

Some bird asked me if I wanted action and she turned out to be a fucking cop, and because I dropped my trousers that was it.

ferocious 12-06-2007 10:47 AM

it's just not cricket when the coppers set traps

Did you lose a dime in one of the slot machines :slots: ROLAND? :mooney:

tom 12-06-2007 03:08 PM

For whatever reason, Mayweather's post news conference interview showed that he isn't all that confident ....... stuttering all over the place. I'm sure that it will be a great fight and we'll find out just exactly how good Mayweather is when he is asked some serious questions.

I've put a tenner on Hatton at 40s to win in 9. :rubhands:

Bilbobaggins 12-06-2007 06:51 PM

I've just put £50 on Mayweather to win on points @ 100/30
Felt really guilty doing it :shame:

Might balance it by putting some on Ricky i n the later rounds.
De La Hoya on tv here saying he reckons Hatton will win.
Says Mayweather is good because of his hunger for cash!
If Hatton wins, he will either have a rematch with Mayweather, or fight Cotto or go with De La Hoya.
I pray Hatton beats the mouthy flashy cunt.
10,000 Brits in Vegas, great stuff, I feel a bit jealous, I was going to get over there but no-one wanted to go with me!
I'm a soft cunt, having a travelling companion or not doesn't usually bother me. Gutted in fact I am not there, win or lose, those memories would be forever

irishmic 12-07-2007 04:05 PM

The build up is getting nasty, can't wait for this one, I'm with my "boys from accross the pond" hope "Hatty" knocks his mouth shut.

Bilbobaggins 12-07-2007 08:11 PM

Mack, who do you want to win?
I fancy a punt at a draw too, wouldn't surprise me

mack 12-07-2007 08:24 PM

Baggins :bag: I'm rooting for Hatton to win because I don't like Mayweather's mouth but I think Mayweather will win the fight :boxing:

tom 12-08-2007 12:31 AM

Three excellent vids from youtube which cut through the hype ......

Bilbobaggins 12-08-2007 12:50 AM

tom, many thanks, brilliant clips mate

mack 12-08-2007 01:04 AM

It looks like Hatton has a real good team around him, especially his trainer Graham. :boxing:

Bilbobaggins 12-08-2007 01:06 AM

Mack, the coverage here makes you think you are actually there.....
Come on Hatton!!!
:boxing:

mack 12-08-2007 01:08 AM

ESPN showed a quick clip from the weigh in, their foreheads were pushed together. I thought Ricky was tempted to head butt Mouthweather.

tom 12-08-2007 02:18 AM

The weigh-in is on youtube now ....... good stuff. Let's fuckin' have him! :cheer3::cheer3::cheer3:

old crust 12-08-2007 08:23 AM

Any members on here meeting up to watch it? I reckon I might go to The Pig and Whistle. At least one other bar on soi 8 is showing it.

Bilbobaggins 12-08-2007 10:29 AM

never seen Hatton in such good shape, great stuff!

mack 12-08-2007 10:30 AM

Both looked in top shape Baggins :bag: Did you see Mouthweather's stomach?
