Saturdays BIG fights
Can't wait for Saturdays big fights and even the late pull out by Braemer has worked and a more interesting fight now for Cleverly.
Classic at the press conference when Tony Bellew called Cleverly a fucking rat and offered him outside. Looking forward to Groves v Degale too and hope Groves wins that one. |
degale v groves will be a belter....2 guys who genuinelly hate each other........groves won the A.B.A's but degale kept his england place and groves hates him for it......i recon degale is world class and will beat groves but groves will go down swingin..........really lookin forward to this........
and bellew has had the good fortune to step in to face cleverly too.........bellew has been barking on for ages how hes better than cleverly..............a 2 time A.B.A champ himself.........another great fight............possibly....dont know which way this will go but i fancy a K.O either way......dancing dancing...........:boxing: :edit: degale rightly kept his spot an won gold at T'olympics...............class act |
I don't know how much is hype with Degale and Groves and how much is real animosity but the Cleverly v Bellew spat looked genuine.
Be interesting at the weigh in tomorrow to see what happens. |
just watched the press conference :boxing: can't believe it's still on box office but i'll still be tuning in
|
Breaking news is the Cleverly v Bellew fight is off as Bellew failed to make the weight and has been replaced by some unknown Russian

ROLAND at ringside, well in front of my TV actually
8 rounds middleweight Billy Joe Saunders beat Kevin Hammond RSF R2 One sided contest as Saunders outclassed Hammond and showed great hand speed and decked Hammond twice through body shots before the referee waved it off. Saunders must go up in class now. |
12 rounds welterweight
Frankie Gavin beat Young Mutley points Technically very good, entertainment wise crap. Very boring and nothing of any excitement. |
12 rounds light/heavyweight
Nathan Cleverly beat Alexei Kuziemsky RSF R4 Fight stopped in round 4 due to Kuziemsky being cut, bit strange as didn't look a bad cut. Not a bad scrap but too short to be of any interest. |
12 rounds super/middleweight
George Groves beat James Degale points As close a fight as you could score 115 - 115, 115 - 114, 115 - 114 for Groves. Didn't really catch fire until the last few rounds and bound to be a return |
Bernard Hopkins won the world title on points also last night to be the oldest ever world champion
|
was a good fight too R.....B-hop was far too clever for pascal......

If I was Frochs manager I'd avoid him like the plague, way too clever for someone as limited as him.
|
I see Froch's manager said the other day that if he beats Glen 'Grandad' Johnson and then Andre Ward he'll be without doubt the greatest ever British boxer pissedme
Guess we'll all have to forget he lost to Kessler and was made to look a mug for 11 rounds by Jermain Taylor then. |
i hate froch with a passion....fuckin hate him and hope he gets smashed to fuckin pieces tonight........greatest ever british boxer hahahahaha.............no where near if he beats the 2 of em at the same time........fuckin bell end
|
a few fights on tonight might tune in if i get back from BBQ tonight.! if not i'll watch re-runs tomorrow :boxing:
|
Not a bad line up, can see Froch winning on points in a messy fight, Kessler on the bill as well and I think Gavin Rees starts it up.
Gavin Rees v Andy Murray (Not the tennis player I hope) European Lightweight Title Carl Frampton v Andy Turley Celtic Super Bamtamweight Title Mikkel Kessler v Mehdi Bouala 12 rounds super middleweight Carl Froch v Glen Johnson Plus a few others time permitting |
only seen the gavin rees fight then i fell asleep.... was froch any good or just his deluded normal self ?
|
It was ok , nothing special. Johnson plugged forward and Froch countered off the back foot for pretty much the 12 rounds. Froch now in the final of the super 6 tournament.
There was no 'big fight atmosphere' and seemed to be in a very small hall so guess the Yanks had no interest in the Nottingham lad. |
i didnt watch it for those reasons R, i knew it would be a boring fight......very impressed with kessler though......

Froch has to fight Andre Ward now in the final of the super 6 and if he wins that then maybe a fight with Kessler ?
|
If they really want to find out who's the daddy in the supermiddleweights then Kessler should fight Bute with the winner taking on the winner of Froch - Ward.

Prizefighter this Tuesday with the Welterweights and Junior Witter in it, bit of a come down for him.

Junior Shitter must of been gutted when Ricky Hatten retired, he'd been making a living off his back for years !
|
I'd loved to have seen Hatton v Witter, would have made a mint for both so surprised they never got it on
|
Btw, my mate knobbed the current prizefighter welterweight champions mum :detective:

Decent enough Prizefighter tonight, Witter the Hitter v Yassine El Maachi in the final. Upset in the semi with El Maachi beating Colin Lynes which I thought Lynes won.
|
Tight call the lynes semi ! Can't see past witter in the final
|
Crap final with not much boxing but the right result, the highlight Witter flying out of the ring. El Maachi wins on points and Witter must be finished , bit like how Reid ended up in his prizefighter.
|
:shit:
|
Floyd Mayweather making a comeback in September, must be skint but I wonder if we will finally get the Mayweather v Pacquiao superfight ?
|
Big Audley making a comeback too dancing
