No, they put a new roof on a few years back. Money seems no object to the Markets people. They have just spent £ 600,000 on a new area, which is less than the size of an 18 yard area, and all it has turn out to be is a basic slabbed open area. You counld'nt make it up.

Is this something to do with you milkpot ?

I know this is a weird post but Porno's fighting our dogs?????
Shes mental. She wants to see if the Bangkeow can kill Junk Yard dog. I know the Thai BK is horrific but it's no match for Junk Yard dog. |

Or do you mean she's trying to make your dogs fight each other? |
No point in my saying anything, really

Mirkys animal kingdom. June Update.
Been quite an exciting month in the Zoo. I'd had an avairy built by a Thai bloke. As it goes, he didn't make a bad job of it but it wasn't perfect. The Bangkeaw dog managed to get in. Really tough to keep a dog like that out if it gets the smell. No harm done but I knew I had to make it more secure. The Thai guy had not made it exactly like I said. I got him back and paid him to move it and make it better. I put the Kites and Eagle on the upstairs balcony tethered to their perch things I bought at the hawk club. Woke up next morning to find my Black Kite had bitten through it's leg jesses and had flown off. Still can't believe it. I was proper gutted. No sign of it at all. We walked around looking for it blowing the whistle but couldn't see it. I didn't write it off though. It's well trained. I thought it would come home when it was hungry. The Thai Bangkeaw has finally broken me. We had a big kennel type area made. No way can this dog live in the house. I love them to bits but fuck knows why. All they do is bite and kill things. They are fantastic guard dogs though. Really grow on you. So faithful. You could never have them in UK. They are just not safe around anyone other than the owner and they bite. Normally when you go to somebodies house and they have a big dog they tell you ' Oh dont worry he's ok'. I'd never say that with a Bangkeaw and neither would anyone who owns one. You cant do anything with them. If you hold out a treat and tell it to sit it just tries to take your hand off. Anyway, back to my Black kite. Now just imagine this. You know what Thai's are like. :lol3: After 3 days, Porno saw the Black kite (name Si-Far) lightning in Thai sitting on next doors roof. There are loads of people outside talking in the road. She calmly walks out with the falconry gauntlet on and just waves a chicken in the air. Si-Far flies down, snatches it out of her hand, flies back up on the roof and eats it. Porno gets another chicken and waves that. Si-Far flies down to the glove and she takes him back home. Cool as a cucumber. :lol3: She said all the people were going ' How you do that. Can't believe. Ohhh what happen. How she can do that. She very good' I'd love to have seen it. While the Hawks were sharing the balcony one of Porno's rabbits went missing. Yes, I mean totally missing. The Eagle looked a little fatter. :lol2: My mate up the road could take no more. He loves rabbits. He offered to take the last one and give it a good home. We said yes and thank fuck that's the end of those smelly bastards. Anyone with a daughter wanting one say no FFS. Rabbits are the worst pets on earth. Filthy creatures. Stink. I hate them. The Eagle is getting massive and eats between 4-6 small chickens a day. Very easy to train. We have ended up with two birds of prey that both come back. 1 Crested Serpent Eagle and 1 Black kite. That will do me for now. Once they are fully trained up I will consider spending out on something big money. I like a hawk you can get here for around 30,000 baht. It's called a Changable Hawk. They are lovely. I'd still love another Akita and would buy one instantly if I saw a large male. The Thailand dog show is soon. I think that's the place to get one. For some sick reason I'd like a large male Bangkeaw as well. We went to Chatuchak today for some plants. I want a fast growing plant to cover the bird avairy. As usual we ended up buying more pets. I'm not happy at my failures regarding keeping koi carp. I've tried again today. Bought 6 lovely fish and all the gear. So far so good. The biggest problem is keeping those white stork bastard things from eating them. That's it folks. You never know what will happen next month.:sofahide: Attachment 17792 Attachment 17793 Attachment 17794 Attachment 17795 Attachment 17796 Attachment 17797 |

Can we get a whip round started and get this clown some professional help ?
|
Ok, I know this thread is a bit tongue in cheek and for a giggle really.
Credit where it's due though. Porno is mental etc. I know that. We went to the hawk school general meeting tonight. She won the best female falconer award. There is quite a few girls there as well. I was well chuffed for her. She has trained Si-Far the Black kite from a chic. No help at all and no previous knowledge of falconry. She's trained him to fly solo and come back. In my life I have never seen a natural lke her with vicious animals. She can handle Bangkeaw dogs and Eagles without batting an eyelid. I think it's a Thai thing. They have a disregard for animals that works with the savage breeds. The RSPCA would have a field day over here. |

they cant tame me .....as my wife and her shitty sister ( bad sister now in the Prachinburi prison hospital haha) found out last week . |

Thai workmanship is second to none. The guy that built this belongs to the Thai master craftmans guild. His family have been in the avairy business over 150 years. |

Thought this might interest you.
Really, this is the only bird in our club that can handle killing monkeys. It's a fucking nasty piece of work believe me. Look at the size of it's talons. Attachment 17805 |

He had those cages imported from USA. Cost including land and club house was around 5 million baht. Add at least another 1 million he paid out in birds. I'm only a beginner at this lark. He's a nice picture of a Red Tailed hawk killing a snake. Attachment 17806 |
This must be what Milkpots drum looks like, except from the outside looking in and with dog, rabbit and koi carp imprints too!

I made a fatal mistake today. :cursing: I was having a day working from home. Got up, fed the birds, dogs and latest edition Koi carp. I finally bit the bullet and did it properly. Found out the reason we kept killing them was poor filtration. We bought a massive pond, all the pumps filters and some cracking fish. Also 4 turtles. Hasn't been all roses. The Bangkeaw dog jumped straight up and ate a turtle within first hour of having them. Porno cracked the cunt in with a bamboo stick. Next the koi's kept jumping out. Found two nearly dead. Luckily they recovered but we had to go and buy some netting to stop that happening and to protect the fish from those bastard storks. Ponds all up and running now. Looks fantastic. Fish are beautiful. All cost 30 baht each down Chatuchak. Bargain I think. Anyway, back to today. We were dossing about round the house, had a bunk up and felt in a good mood. Porno suggested we go to Chatuchak to buy some more fish as the pond is big and can cope with more. On route we started having a chat about the Bangkeaw. Now that dog is a fucking total nightmare. She kills anything that moves and is totally fearless. They don't look much but trust me you have never seen anything like it when they kick off. The thing is though we love her to bits. Last week against my better judgment I let Porno talk me into letting her breed the dog with a nasty large male that lives opposite. The other dog is a pedigree from Phitsanolok. That's where the good un's come from. He's a really big bastard but cracking looking. Our dogs on heat so we tried to get it on with them. What happened? As soon as we showed them to each other the fukkas went into attack mode. No way was that happening. So, on route to Chatuchak we start speaking about Bangkeaw etc. We get to the market and suss out what koi's we want. They have some lovely fish there even if they are for sale in placcy bags. :innocent: Just before we bought the fish Porno asks me why don't I buy another Akita? The woman we bought Ninja from is waving us in her shop so we enter. Big news. Her American Akita is expecting. It's a real beauty. Tiger striped big fukka. Black, brown and white. She offered me the pick of the litter. I said yes and will be getting Ninja 2 in the next few weeks. Can't wait. My favorite dogs of all time. I'll get the largest male. Don't ask how much. :zipit: We come out all happy. I decide that's my birthday present. We are much better equipped to deal with having a puppy in LOS. Learnt to many painful lessons in the past. Chatuchak has the number 1 Bangkeaw breeder in LOS. They have a shop there. It's where we bought ours. The dogs are the originals from the monks. Here is the history of the breed for anyone interested. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thai_Bangkaew_Dog This is the dealer. http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?ui...26&topic=16823 Now don't get me wrong. Miko our Bangkeaw, although horrific is a beauty. She's a high class pedigree with full papers. In LOS that is worth something as these are very popular breed. Just for the crack we decide to look in the shop. We had a shock. The guy had 6 of the best looking dogs you could ever see. Really big puppies with lovely colors. I knew they were something special instantly. We went in and Porno picked up the best looking male Bangkeaw I have ever seen. These dogs need to have a small stubby what the Thai's call tiger face. The one in Porno's hand was perfect. Mum and Dad champions (that we have heard of actually). The best 6 Bangkeaw puppies money can buy. I waited to hear how much and wasn't surprised that they were double the going rate of even a really good one. Porno got talking to the bloke and did a deal that suited both of us. We are in the dog breeding game. :cheer3: Bunged a deposit down and will pick up our new howling friend Friday. :hugme: We still have the Thai guy here doing ongoing kennel building and aviary work. Suppose he'll just be here a bit longer. The males are fucking difficult to handle. They are big and really do howl all night. They really get attached to you and won't let anyone or anything near you. Should be fun. We went to buy the fish and saw a commotion. The police had raided the market. Some Thai bloke had all his birds confiscated. As we walked past the bird dealers our man we buy the hawks from gave me the nod. We went into his shop. He told me he's got another Eagle for sale. Was this the time? Was it my dream Changable Hawk Eagle? No, unfortunatly it was another Serpent Eagle. This was the standard black one. Attachment 17808 We are lucky to have found the golden coloured variety. Very rare. Attachment 17809 It was a nice bird but I don't want another one the same. Shame but I can wait. So, more dogs on the way. To be honest I'm glad to be enjoying LOS again. The P4P scene can ruin me at times. The drinking, the spending, the hangovers etc. Sometimes I need my pets. |
:hmmm: .....more impulse buys in Chatuchak and the same mistakes being repeated over and over :dunno:
|
I can just dream of the day the dogs turn on you

Dave, seen this http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/to...e-of-an-expat/
Same breed of dog and same problems. |
That made me laugh. Thanks for posting that.

I have not laughed so much in years. Thanks.

Mirkys Animal Kingdom Update........
Well the flood took it's toll on my Zoo for sure. We had serious problems. No way could we get the baby chickens the birds of prey eat. It was trouble for sure. The falconry school was over 20km away. We made a decision. Let the birds go free and see what happened. The Black Kite first. That was a good story. He kept coming back every morning and taking fish from the hand. Porno was catching them. After a couple of weeks Porno saw him with twigs in his mouth. Seems like he found a mate. Saw him a couple more times then he vanished. Poor Eagle didn't fare so well He came home and stayed. Couldnt look after himself. Porno did her best buying chicken and stuff. He was doing ok but the avairy was flooded. We had him just sitting n the balcony. Recipe for disaster. Another snake victim. Dogs came into their own. OK, Thai Bangkeows are bastards but its like a skinhead when war breaks out. They come into their own. When the water went I'd lost heart in it all. Gutted about my Eagle Thor. Couldn't even face cleaning the avairy up. 3 weeks ago that changed. I spent the weekend scrubbing it down and went out buying trees etc. Made it great again. Went to Chatuchak. It must have meant to be. Saw Barn Owls for sale. I love them so bought 2 for 1000 a piece. They are lovely. They are well happy here. Plenty of room to fly around and I'll teach them to come back. Lost all the Koi carp. Spent most of the day cleaning all the Koi pond and pumps. Watch this space. |
Sorry Dave, but what sort of limp-taloned eagle gets taken by a snake?
Its the other way in most places. Unless it was a Wisconsin Sidewinder.:stir: |

Thanks for a long awaited update.

Sorry to hear about Thor. I was well impressed with that bird.
Though the Barn Owls sound pretty cool as a replacement! :fly: Hadn't seen this thread before. I'll have to make a coffee and have a read! :book: |
Sometimes,in the wee small hours when you are alone, wondering about the direction your life has taken since making the move, rocking back and forth with your head in your hands, do you not sometimes wish you had just moved in next door to cacky Larry in Nirrun, integrated yourself into pattaya society and led a nice safe life, balloon chasing,FLB member meetings, Secrets partys???
You would probably live longer, as it is its just a matter of what gets you first, the dogs taking your arms off, the birds pecking your eyes out, a cobra bite or a knife between the shoulder blades of your bird. |
