OT, but its been a long time since the days of Brian Moore and free football on the ABC.

This might just throw a spanner into Rupert's works. Of course, Optus owned by Singapore Telecom are the greatest arseholes in the known universe.

I can't believe they were paying more for our third rate local 12 team comp than EPL with its 9 month season

Bloody hell, I better keep away from that Oscar Taltos bloke who hails from Iceland.

I just seen the latest world rankings in "wogball".

FIFA Mens Team Rankings

It's even worse when it comes to Handball. Australia is so far down the page, I wore my mouse out scrolling that far.

World Handball Rankings

I think we might have the wood on them in Aussie Rules though

I've got my money on and am reasonably confident of getting my stake back at least, as I have done most seasons in recent years.

I do an each way Lucky 15 and avoid the Premiership as they only pay out on the top two and it's impossible to get an each way bet but here are my choices

Championship _ Middlesbrough
League 1 - Wigan
League 2 - Oxford

and probably putting the mockers on their chances

Conference / National League - Tranmere

Apart from my natural confidence in Tranmere at this time every year and the fact that they have been relegated in each of the last two seasons I really do believe that this year they should bounce straight back.

Best price I found at the moment was 5/1 and if they don't go up I will refund the stakes ( in beers in Pattaya ) for any member here who can prove that they backed them after the date of this post.

Pile your money on, men.

Well, I had a good run for my money.
MIddlesbrough 2nd
Wigan 1st
Oxford 2nd

Won't recover my stake I suppose but three times during the course of the season I gambled on all 4 teams to win on the same day and won each time

Plus I had one big bet come in which brought me just over £1,700 for a £10 stake so overall a good season for me except for Tranmere

Bring on 2016 - 2017

I'm loving every Denmark goal at the minute.

I see the Bagman's favourite NRL player, Paul Gallen, is about to become the Cronulla-Sutherland Shark's player who has played the most games for the club. No doubt the :bag: will be cheering on the Sharks this weekend when he breaks the record.

He will be devastated when Gallen retires at the end of the season

:rip: Gary Sidebottom.
Good footballer (Swan Districts) from the early 80's, unfortunately best remembered for missing the team bus on semi-final day. Never played for that club again. 64. Not old.

Geezus. Too many dying of cancer especially in Western Australia.

On a personal note, not too many who worked in the iron ore industry live past 80.

Totally OT, but whatever. Last night my mate and I were down the pub, along with his 16 year old son.My mate had to go pick up his other boy, so Alex stayed with me. We got to talking about him getting a job when he goes to uni. Seems all his mates are keen to be lumpers at the local abattoir, hard yakka but the pay is good. I was stunned. Told him about a book I'd read called Fast Food Nation, where the author visits meat workers in the American prairie states. Horrifying conditions, they are mostly Latinos working for meagre wages and all have horrible injuries from the cutters and the heavy lifting involved.
Just thinking about your time as union rep, the mining companies pay good but harsh conditions in the heat and very physical at times. I'm sure you would have seen some risks taken back in the day.

kuranda_bagman 03-30-2019 01:57 AM

Fuck of Sandgroper - Gallen is the one person ALL Queenslanders hate with a vengeance - I for one can't wait for him to hang up his boots.

However, in all fairness that's some achievement becoming the player whose played the most games for his club. He's only played for the one club, started in 2001 and has done 18 seasons. Bloody long time to play at that level.

Hi

Not usually in to football but did watch Leeds v. Liverpool on and off last night in a bar whilst chatting to a friend of mine.

Leeds put on a good show against Liverpool

IMO.

Enjoyed what I watched of the match.
When is the last time Liverpool conceded 3 goals at home ?
Anyone know ?

We were a tad unlucky with that first penalty but yeah a very proud performance I can’t honestly remember being happy despite losing.

I had to google it
It was January 2019 in a 4-3 win over Crystal Palace

Hi

A couple of questions please

Are most Premier League games played on a Saturday ?
All start at about the same time or does it vary.?

Who do Liverpool and Leeds play this week end.

If I can find a late night bar, might watch a bit.

Time to get some interests in my life.

Thanks

Not a big footy fan anymore, but can answer a couple of questions. The EPL matches are mainly played on: Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Kick off times vary but there normally after midday. Back in the good old days, before Sky took over, nearly all Football League games KO time was 3pm on a Saturday. This is still the case in the lower leagues, but the EPL KO times are chopped and changed depending on when Sky want to broadcast matches.

All times are GMT. The time now is 02:48 AM.
