Leicester are definitely throwing the cash around at the moment, just seen Reading have accepted a 5 mil bid for Matt Mills.

Good signing. Not sure, but this may be the biggest transfer fee not involving a premier league club.
Talk around town is suggesting another big fee being offered for Maynard from Bristol City. If anyone is in touch with winnie, could you pass on the thanks of all City fans, for his financial support to King Power duty free. |
I just hope with all the big money moves we don't fall flat on our arse.

Aron Gunnarsson is Cardiff's 5th free signing since Malky took over, should bring a bit of much needed resilience to our centre midfield.

Bit of a suprise signing really in that he's neither scottish or from watford. Our midfield is shaping up well though:
Whitts Cowie Gunnarsson Conway Quite happy with that. Still need some strengthening up front though as a Parkin - Earnie combo doesn't fill me with confidence. |
Cardiff about to gazump Rangers yet again? Heard we've had an offer accepted for Kenny Miller.
|
The Kenny Miller thing splits the fans up here. This would be his third spell at Rangers if he came back and he's not universally popular. He was however Scotland's top scorer last season and he only played half the season before he was sold to Bursapor. Played out his skin with his contract running out ! I'd be happy if he came back but not too bothered either way. Hope you've plenty of sunbed shops in Cardiff so he can top up his perma-tan.
Trivia fact.... Craig Conway cut my hair ! His dad Ian had 'the' barbers where I live and young Craig was groomed to take over in case the football career didn't take off. A good haircut if a bit slow in doing it. He's done well in football though now. |
Having a look at the sporting news tonight. Seems Rangers are unwilling to pay Bursapor £900,000 for Miller having sold him to them for £400,000 six months ago.
Rangers have been trailing Goodwillie at Dundee Utd, at 21, ten years younger than Miller. In this economic climate that means you can sell him on if he does well. Now Goodwillie would have been the number one target, but for the matter of a rape charge coming up.... but breaking news... :scotsflag: Goodwillie case dropped tommorrow The rape case against DG will be formally dropped tommorrow. Everything is agreed with the crown prosecution but the only delay has been because Frank Mullholland (Lord Advocate) was on holiday until today. We are aware of this and its expected a bid of £2m will be lodged, and accepted, as soon as its all official. Source; players legal team Lifted from RM mate. Hopefully Rangers make some signings this week, lost four players since the end of last season. Weiss, Foster, Bartley and Diouf. No defenders on the bench for the friendly against Blackpool. |
I've heard exactly the same on the Cardiff forums mate but they reckon the deal is all done and dusted and he'll be our player as soon as the charges are dropped. Be interesting to see which way he moves.
|
Took a bit longer than expected but the rape charge was dropped this afternoon. Hopefully should know where he's going soon.
|
Rangers supposed to have had a bid rejected today for Goodwillie.
As an aside.. Rangers have banned the BBC from press conferences etc at Ibrox. :unionflag: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/broadcas...ws-report.html |
Saw that, still think you're more likely to get him now as more and more I think Miller was instead of Goodwillie rather than as well as. Shame really as I think the 2 of them would be a lethal combination up front.

Ipswich spent quite a bit as have Derby, Leicester must be going for it big time.
Birmingham could be fucked as the Chinese money dried up and may have a 10 point deduction. |

I reckon Leicester are in with a damn good shout of going up this season as they're bringing quality players in for this level. Suprised that Forest haven't been more active to be honest. Going to be a tough season this year. |
Yes Birmingham are in the shit.
Derby were poor last season and I don't think they will improve enough to threaten promotion. Leeds have now missed the boat and I don't think Forest will be good enough. West ham have the best chance of the relegated clubs to go straight back up |
Leicester and West Ham 4/1 joint favs, I'd rather have a tenner on Leicester than the Hammers. I can see it going it a bit pear shaped for Big Sam.
|
Anybody got any suggestions for the lower divisions ? I'm really struggling this year
|
Mirror reckons City are bidding £ 4 million for Cameron Jerome from the Blue noses. No stopping these Thai owners. Real Madrid in town today, 32,000 sell out for a friendly.

In League 2 I wouldn't back Crawley at 3/1 with your money, terrible odds but can't find anyone to oppose them with. Maybe Oxford will be the ones ? |
The Crawley price is just ridicu;ous, I agree. Almost as the disparity in prices for Hartlepool. A mate of mine supports them and is quite optimistic for once so seeing as they have signed Nobby Solanos I tought it would check the early odds
Bet 365 20/1 Ladbrokes 40/1 Justa Bet 50/1 Hills 80/1 All on the same day |
I'll put my bets on Friday so can suss out any last minute signings or financial problems, that's the trouble now if your team gets a 10 point deduction you're fucked.
|
For the first time in many a year I am looking forward to this season. Great start for Leicester, plenty of money spent, more to come, and first game away at our hate club. 6,500 sell out for the away fans and just like old times many of us have tickets for the home end. I've backed us at 9/2 on betfair to be champions and am already spending my winnings on a trip to LOS. Its all set up for Saturday, Coventry have lost all their best players and signed hardly anyone, nothing can go wrong .............. get your shirt on a Cov win. :faint:
|
Fucking Roland is going to be well happy :-)

Si isn't

Transfer window closes tomorrow, be interesting to see how many players Leicester sign or who are linked with ?

Quote:
Interesting interview with McClaren on East Midlands news, he sounds on the verge of resigning if he cannot sign any new players. |

Bollocks. That fat lump Parkin doesn't appear to be going now. Good news for any Cov fans I guess.
|
Shit transfer window for Cardiff, ended up with another central defender when we're crying out for a winger and a target man.
Reckon Beckford will do well for Leicester. Did that Vicente bloke sign for Brighton in the end? Anyone happy with their teams last minute deals? |
Haven't heard if he signed or not, not sure if he would be a good signing.
|
They were making a big fuss about him on the BBC blog I was following yesterday but that usually means nothing.
