Wow!!! 482 runs on a first day of a Test match. Betcha never seen that before especially against the world #1 team. Just under 87 overs bowled at a run rate of 5.55 per over.

Flat wicket, mediocre bowling maybe but it was still done

Now all we need to do is get a few more New South Welshmen into the side and we will be back where we belong. Only 2 in the side at the moment. One scored a century, the other one got a unbeaten double century so there ya go. At least we don't have any mongrel Queenslanders in the side.

:bigfinger Get fucked sandgroper

Mind you, I have to agree it was a great days cricket for Australia, just a pity we didn't ram home the advantage this morning and the Japie's are now putting together a good 1st innings run chase.

I've watched some of the highlights and the track does look like a road. Fair play to Clarke again though.

The two Test Series currently underway Australia v. South Africa and India v. England are really producing some good entertainment.

Just watched the first day highlights of Australia v. South Africa at the WACA. Looked like the Aussies had bowled the Yarpies out for a real low score of 225 and they only got that because the lower order supported Du Plessis and put on some runs. Yarpies were 75 for 6 after winning the toss so the 225 all out was quite a good recovery. Although with Morne Morkel batting 11 there was batting strength in depth. Just as well as they needed it.

Then the Aussies had a tricky end to the day and ended up 33-2.

Could be the conditions/wicket favours the bowlers. Wont find out till both sides have batted. But looks like Pup Clarke will have to make another hefty contribution.

Plus its Ponting's last Test. I think thats a good call by him, the years have caught up with him. He just doesnt seem to be able to get back into the runs anymore and he's too old to be given any time. However that does'nt alter the fact that he was a high class batsman and skippered the Aussies through a golden era. We English love to hate Punter, but his talent is massively respected.

Do you get much rain this time of year in Perth ? :helpsmilie:

Only another 592 runs required, all wickets still intact and six sessions in which to get the runs. Piece of piss.

However if they do it the Aussies will beat the Windies record breaking score of 418 runs. Which gives some perspective to the massive run chase required.

Capt Cook magnificent again today against the curry munchers

:unionflag:

And that good NSW lad, young Phil Hughes, is back in the Australian Test side. Attempt #3 to keep a regular spot in the Test team. He's getting a better deal than the likes of Jamie Siddons and Stuart Law ever got. Cos he was born in the right State. The latest Victorian bloke did not last long.

See those other NSW born lads Khawaja (scored 56) and Scott Henry (172 n.o.) against the Sri Lankans today. For sure they will be in the Aussies Test side within 12 months

(insert NSW state flag smileee here)
