shit internet in Pattaya

I got home to Pattaya yesterday after 4 months away, and found the internet is reeeaaaaaaallllly sallllllllooooowwwww.

I used to get a genuine 900mb download speed in June now its 35kb on a 1mb ADSL line ??? I have spoken with TOT technical andvthey just say it due to the government??????

just ran a test on it and its not too bad, upload is crap though with virgin media

mine is only 1meg max here at home & 8meg at work , i found the internet at sabai hotel was just as good as my connection here at home

I was getting a little under 2 mb/s in the place I was staying in Jomtien which is faster than my connection here.

Speed tests show lousy speeds but ISP TOT say all is fine and new big brother Rutaban is slowing it all down.I could change to TT&T but my friend Greg hasit an he says its also crap now?????

Think i will go back to work its more relaxing and less hassle than Pattaya , nothing here works properly any more.
phones crapped out , roads are shit , 4'' of water brought pattaya to a complete halt.... took me 4 fuckin hours to drive 2 km .

The problem with TT&T (Maxnet) in Pattaya is that you have too many people with a bit of cash who are happy to pay for their 4 mb service which means it's still shit during busy periods and that's without taking the crap bandwith on the international gateways into account.

After much nagging I finally got her to get broadband, actually I ended up going down the TOT office myself with her brother and sorting it. I'd brought her over a pukka little Samsung NC10 netbook so she wanted wifi preferably and TOT was doing a 1mb connection for 590bt a month with free modem or 1500bt for a wireless 4 port router. Of course when we finally gets to see someone in the TOT office the 1500bt grew into 2500bt cos it's a different area even though their brochures in the office say fack all about different areas. Would of been better off going up tukcom and buying a router there I reckon. Seems she was paying about 400bt a month on average for her wanky old dial up so 590bt seems a no brainer really as it includes 300bt per month of calls to Thai landlines.

Took a couple of days to come on and seems to be working ok. On speedtest.net I'm getting 877kb dl and 425kb ul, similar on speedtest.thaivisa.com but on broadbandspeedchecker.co.uk I'm only getting 280kb dl and 145kb ul so fuck knows why the big difference.

Im getting 900 kbs this morning in loom on pattaya Tai, usually up to 1800 kbs but then theres 60 looms with god knows how many fukkas plugged into " The Matrix " living their alternative life.:robot: Puts a serious strain on your d'load capabilities. The speedtest thingy is only doing the test to the BKK server. You need to test to London or LA or somewhere to see what speeds you'll really be able to achieve through the international gateways.
