Am watching T.V. now (July 29) and they are getting close to inducting 2 great baseball players and just as important nowadays, two good guys, into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Tony Gwynn, one of the best hitters of all time, won 8 batting titles, never struck out more than 40 times in any season, and always had time for the fans and the media.

Cal Ripken Jr. played shortstop, a demanding position, and played in 2,632 straight games, breaking Lou Gehrig's consecutive game streak, all while putting up excellent numbers.

Now I'll watch them speak in front of the largest crowd to attend the ceremonies and see which one breaks down and cries before finishing their speeches...probably both will since it seems none of the inductees are ever able to get through their speeches each year without crying. Two class acts, congratulations to Gwynn and Ripken

Cal Ripken Jr-sounds like a serial killer
Tony Gwynn-does he know gonzo?

Cal Rip-ur-kin..never thought about it like that. Tony Gwynn is now around 43 years old, short pudgy black man. He doesn't know jonny Badsi, he's married with kids and doesn't go that way.
