Two Thai thieves were arrested for robbing the bag of two overweight Russian women, whom they thought would be too slow to run after them.
Pattaya, 30 May 2011 [PDN]: Police Captain Somchai Chaikanaukul (Pattaya Police Deputy Investigator) was notified that two female tourists had been robbed at the site of the So To Ro 5 radio station. Two robbers ran up the Khao Phra Bat hill towards the giant Buddha image situated on Khao Phra Tamnak hilltop, Captain Somchai said.
The police chased two suspects towards Third road direction and eventually arrested them in front of Tuk Com store on South Pattaya Road, Somchai added. When arrested, Anupong Thipan, 21 and Sakol Boonta, 30 were found in possession of 1,200 Baht cash and some Russian money, which were confiscated as evidence, an officer said. Both thieves confessed they had robbed the two Russian women because they thought the overweight women could not run after them. ___ :fatbitch: ___ :feminazi:
They stole the bag, took only the cash and threw the rest away into a bush nearby, the police said adding that they tried to escape on a motorbike taxi. The officers located the bag in the bush as reported and directed by the suspects. Inside the bag, officers found a Russian passport of Xmejieba Khmeleva, one LG mobile phone, 11,000 Baht cash, USD$800 and 1,490 Rubles.
Both suspects were taken to the police station for further questioning and investigation. Afterwards, the robbery victim, Xmejieba Khmeleva came to the police station to identify the two thieves and claimed her properties. However, Xmejieba said over 6,000 Rubles were missing. Both suspects were charged with theft and will be prosecuted.
